You’re Probably Applying Eye Cream All Wrong!

Breaking news to share with you today! Guess what, if you didn’t know already, I want you to know now. Fingertips and eye cream don’t mix.

Ever take a close look at very expensive eye creams on the market? Most of these under eye products have one distinct thing that separates them from the rest. They can’t be touched using your fingertips. I know it sounds silly but it’s true. It’s not because these brands are too snobby for finger application. Sure, it does sound like that but I promise that’s not the case at all.

Applying Eye Cream Correctly

Why You Must Not Apply Eye Cream Incorrectly

The reason you shouldn’t apply under eye cream with your fingers is because there’s a chance they are covered in bacteria. Honestly, I don’t care how clean you are or how many times you wash them. They simply aren’t as clean as you think.

Another reason it’s bad to apply cream using your fingers is that they’re simply too powerful and rough. The under eye region is ultra sensitive and wrinkles form easily here. It might be the most sensitive area of your skin in general, which also makes it the weakest. Damaging the area is pretty damn easy.

Honestly, I can’t tell you how many times I tried to explain this to people. Most of them just shrug their shoulders and walk away. They think I’m the most annoying person on the planet. I completely understand, but seeing as though I write for a skin care blog, I just can’t keep quite about it.

What about the luxury brands?

Well, more often than not, when you purchase one of these luxury eye creams, you’ll get an applicator that comes with the product. It really depends on the product packaging. Sometimes it’s part of the package and other times it’s a small scoop.

Trust me, using an applicator is a game-changer and if you’re not doing it then you’re losing out. Pro tip: leave the eye cream and the applicator in a cool place such as the refrigerator. It will feel like a cold compress and make you look that much better. Not to mention it feels so much more relaxing.

If you think I’m wrong, then just tell me. I’m almost positive that you’ll like the results that you get from making the change here.

If you don’t have money to buy an expensive skin product, then buy what you can afford and purchase an applicator online separately. When in doubt, spoon it out!

Assuming you’ve got money to spend, you have some options in terms of products. Think about giving Dior Prestige or Chanel Sublimage a try. You can also try La Mer out if you’d like.
