Want To Look Younger? Stop Getting Drunk.

There are a few things that just age us like crazy. Premature aging absolutely sucks. It’s one of the worst things in the world. If you want to avoid prematurely aging then I suggest you stop drinking alcohol. I’d be willing to bet money that most of the people you know that drink heavily look older than their actual age. Am I right? Of course, I am! If you’re a heavy drinker then you might be the friend that I’m talking about. Here are a few reasons why I suggest you stop getting wasted and start caring about your looks.

getting drunk is bad for skin

Refrain From Getting Drunk To Improve Your Skin

I’m going to tell you exactly why you need to stay away from alcohol if you want to stay young looking. None of the things that I’m about to share are shockers. In fact, they are no brainers and it should deter you from drinking alcohol in general (if you care about your looks).

For starters, alcohol causes dehydration. Alcohol is a diuretic and diuretics aren’t good for your skin. Why? Well, they reduce the amount of fluid in your body. That ultimately sucks all the water and moisture out of your skin. Dehydrated skin looks old, ugly and downright dull. Dehydrated skin can make you look twenty years older.

Another downside to having dehydrated skin is that it lacks the proper protection your skin needs to better protect itself from the sun. That means more chances of getting skin cancer, sunburns, and other skin irritations. I know it sounds super fun!

Another reason you want to avoid getting drunk is because alcohol can cause skin inflammation. This causes redness in the skin and believe it or not, the redness can become a serious and permeant issue. You’ll eventually get that incredibly embarrassing blushing complexion in your skin. I should also mention that your internal organs can become inflamed as well. Trust me, internal inflammation can be a heck of a lot worse.

Drinking alcohol can cause sleeping issues. A lack of sleep is your skin’s worst nightmare. Not getting enough sleep can cause premature lines, sallow looking skin, wrinkles, and more. It can also cause you to gain weight which can stretch out your skin and make you look older in general. If you’re not sleeping a minimum of 7 or 8 hours then you need to change up your lifestyle because you’re aging faster than you should and you’re killing yourself at the same time.

I could continue with this list but the reasons I’ve shared alone should be enough for you to want to avoid alcohol altogether. I try my best to not drink alcohol because I like to live a healthy lifestyle. I only wish I had taken my own advice at an earlier stage of my life. The good news is that I’m still young enough to reap the benefits. Truthfully, no matter what your age is, you should think about getting drunk less frequently. You’ll be better looking as a reward for doing so.
