Hot Trending Terms In Skin Care In 2017

Here’s a list of some of the many terms that you can expect to see on advertisements, retail shelves, online retail websites, and within spa brochures. Take a few minutes to understand what each of them are and why their important today. You don’t have to be intrigued to learn about every single one of them, but I’d advise that you take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with one or two of them.

This is a term used to describe low inflammation. The reason this is so important to understand is primarily due to it being closely related to collagen breakdown as well as loss of elastin. Many products today focus on repairing the damage caused by this condition and we’re likely to see more as the year progresses.

Another new trendy term is known as micro-channeling. This micro-channeling technology refers to a product’s ability to literally create very small channels within layers of your skin to better deliver ingredients. There are many products on the market that are currently utilizing this technology in hopes of better serving their customers.

Blue Zone Skin Care

No, this isn’t a brand, but a location in which skin care ingredients come from. The name comes from specific “Blue Zones” which are areas of the world where people tend to live longer. Brands such as Chanel, are beginning to incorporate Blue Zone ingredients into their products.

This is a super strong antioxidant that basically helps protect your skin cells better than almost anything else. As a result, it helps you fight off wrinkles, aging, and other factors. If you’re interested in learning where this comes from, it can be found in krill oil.  Many companies such as this one, produce products that contain this ingredient. It’s a super antioxidant, to say the least, and it’s trending huge today.

Last but not least, the term epigenetics is being thrown around quite a bit today. To simplify things here, this term basically has to do with the personalization of skin care products based on genetics, DNA, and cells within your body. For example, there’s a company out there that prides itself in genetically testing consumers to best identify the type of serum that would coincide with a consumer’s skin. It takes a short period of time but costs quite a bit.

I’m sure there are plenty of other skin care terms that will begin to gain traction, keep your eyes open for more. Feel free to send them my way and I’ll do some due diligence on them myself. Until then, stick with what works and if you don’t know what that is, just ask us. We’ll help you find the way!
