Most of the time we only store edible items in the fridge. However, there are some other circumstances in which the refrigerator should be used. Just like you store your food without overthinking it, there are certain occasions when you should store other goods, such as skin and beauty products.
If your food to beauty ratio within the fridge is too one-sided, then you’ve got switch things up a bit. I’m going to share some pointers with you on which beauty products you should consider storing in the refrigerator!
Beauty and Skin Care Products Meant For The Fridge
Here is a quick rundown of all the products which I’d strongly suggest you store in the refrigerator. Of course, you don’t necessarily need to store them in the fridge, but it certainly helps in one respect or another. Here’s what you need to know.
Now, this one probably sounds like a no-brainer, but you’ll want to store ey creams in the fridge for sure. The main reason storing these creams in the fridge makes sense is due to the increased levels of effectiveness. Cooling your eye cream makes it work more like a cold compress which helps further reduce puffiness and improve circulation. Additionally, it will help better preserve the product so the cream works more effectively for a longer period of time. The same can be said for eye serums as well.
All Natural Products
If you’re the granola type and you prefer to avoid preservatives and stuff like that, then you’ll want to store your all-natural products in the fridge. Storing them in the cool environment helps increase the lifespan of natural products. The best way to know if the ingredients should be kept cool is to read the product label. You know, something that most of us typically avoid doing.
Most people do not think to put their mascara in the fridge, but it’s definitely one to consider. If you use mascara for an extended period of time, eventually it will start to smell. When that happens, it’s a sign that the product is beginning to fail from a shelf life perspective. To prevent this from happening, you should think about storing your mascara in the fridge. Doing so may extend the shelf life.
If you’re using any moisturizers, you may want to think about storing them in the fridge as well. This holds especially true if you’re battling red skin aka rosacea. The reason you want to store your moisturizer in the refrigerator is to help keep your skin cool and calm. This will assist in the redness reduction process.
All Things Vitamin C
If you are using any products that contain vitamin C, then it’s in your best interest to store them in the refrigerator. If you refrigerate your vitamin C containing products, it will help prevent the oxygenation process and reduce the breakdown process which can make products less effective.
If you’re the type that likes to spend money on Korean sheet masks and other types of masks, then do your skin a favor and store them in the fridge. Using a mask that’s been chilled and cooled before use is much better for your skin. The cooling has a real soothing effect on your skin. One that many wouldn’t even think of. Delivering all those vitamins, minerals, and nutrients all while cooling the skin, it’s a major win!
There are of course other types of beauty products that you can consider putting in your fridge, but I don’t want to take up all your space today! Start where I’ve mentioned and see if you end up with any skin improvements. Report back to use please as we’d love to hear from you!
