There are so many things that contribute to achieving unattractive looking skin. As we age, spots begin to appear. These spots are most commonly referred to as skin spots, age spots or even liver spots. They are not pretty and most people dread the day that they appear.
When all is said and done, you basically have two options. You can either choose to take preventative measures and reduce the chances of them forming or have them removed.
Both are okay avenues and I’m sure you’ll eventually have to do one or the other. I decided to take the preventative route and it seems to be working quite well for me. Granted, I’m still young and I hope to continue to look young and healthy but it doesn’t come without a little bit of effort. Here are a few things that I suggest doing if you plan on taking the preventative route.
Things That Help Prevent Age Spots From Forming
Keep this list close and reference it whenever you start to feel like you are looking older or are getting spots. You’ll be glad I shared it with you.
Good Clean Diet
You are what you eat and it’s never too late to start eating a well-balanced diet. Start a natural healthy diet today that includes lots of vitamin C rich foods. (Read the benefits here.) It’s a blessing for your skin. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables if you really want to make an impact on the anti aging process.
H2O – Water
Skin can only stay healthy and ageless if it’s well hydrated. You need to consume lots of water in order to rid your body of nasty toxins. The toxins that you do not get rid of have a negative impact on your health and wellness. Stay hydrated for toxin free, clear skin.
Vitamin E can help prevent age spots from showing up. After spending all day working and being out and about in the sun, it makes sense to apply some vitamin E oil to your skin. Do this right before bed for best results.
If you already have age spots, then I suggest applying Aloe Vera gel to those areas. The aloe will work its magic and help reduce the spots. One of the reasons that it works so well is due to a chemical it contains. The chemical helps remove dead cells which can help stimulate the growth of new healthy cells.
I can’t stress this one enough. I know you’ve heard it said before but just wear sunscreen daily. It takes little to no effort to make it happen. Use a good quality sunscreen too and you’ll notice what a difference it truly makes. Sunscreens help protect skin pigmentation and the product of pigments is what you want to prevent from occurring.
Getting enough sleep is so crucial if you want to prevent from getting age spots. Far as I’m concerned, sleep is the most neglected things on this planet and I’d be willing to bet those that have age spots aren’t sleeping as much as they should.
There are plenty of other techniques that can help prevent the occurrence of age spots but those listed above come to mind first and foremost. Whatever you do, you need to do something or you’re going to look older than necessary. Take some action today and be proactive, not reactive when it comes to your skin.
