I’m sure that you’ve heard of this increasingly popular natural skin care product. Rosewater is one of the most popular skin care ingredients used today. If you’re familiar with it then I’m sure you probably use it. If not, then you probably want to learn as much as you can about rosewater so that you can begin incorporating it into your skin care regimen. Let me start by explaining what it is…
What Is Rosewater?
For starters, rosewater isn’t anything that’s been recently discovered. It’s an extract from the rose petal. Rosewater has literally been around for centuries and it’s recently made a strong comeback for a few reasons. For starters, individuals have been spending more time educating themselves on the different ingredients that skin care products contain. Given that it’s been widely used, more people are familiar with how great Rosewater can be for your skin. Knowing what you put on your skin is so important today so if you’re thinking about using any products that contain rosewater you’re going to want to read this.
How Is Rosewater Made?
It’s pretty easy to make rosewater. All you need to is steep rose petals in a hot cup of tea. Doing so will help extract the oil from the rose flower. This method has been used for years by Romans, Greeks, and Persians. They did this in order to create their own perfume. They’ve also added sugars and other essential oils to help create skin care products. The product is predominantly being used for skin care treatments.
Uses of Rosewater
If you have puffy eyes, then I suggest that you grab a small bottle of rosewater to help reduce the puffiness. Do yourself a favor and pop the rosewater in the fridge for a period of 30 minutes to let it cool off. Take a few cotton balls and get them wet with the water. Place the cotton balls on your eyes for a few minutes. This will definitely work to both soothe and reduce the puffiness under and around your eyes.
If your skin isn’t soft and you want to do your best to soften it then I have a solution for you. Begin by pouring a few cups of Rosewater into a bath tub. What’s going to happen is your going to smell wonderful for starters. Second, you are going to have the smoothest skin ever.
Rosewater is a great natural makeup remover. Gently apply the Rosewater to your face. In a small circular motion, apply the doused cotton ball or pad to your face and wipe the makeup off your skin. In the event that you’re not able to wipe the makeup away, I suggest that you try adding a small amount of coconut oil to your mixture. Whatever you do, do not rub to hard or your skin will get aggravated or irritated. The last thing you want to occur is more irritation.
Set Your Makeup
Rosewater can be used to try and set your makeup. If you’re having trouble keeping your makeup in place, then you may want to try this. All you have to do is hold a spray bottle filled with Rosewater roughly six inches away from your face. Spray gingerly and admire that results in the closest nearby mirror.
Tone Your Skin
Sometimes it’s a good idea to step away from harsh chemicals and Botox treatments in order to tone your skin. Instead, just make using Rosewater a bigger part of your skin routine. Just apply it to your face using a spray bottle, cotton balls or fingers. This type of treatment definitely helps you prevent wrinkles, lines and even tightens your pores.
Areas that get shaved or waxed often are susceptible to irritation. Applying Rosewater to areas after they been shaved can help reduce the redness that can occur. As an added bonus, your skin will smell absolutely wonderful!
I must warn you that using Rosewater to treat acne is a bad idea. However, it will help with the acne issue but it might make your rosacea worse. Here’s what you’ll want to do. Pour 1 tablespoon of Rosewater into a bowl and add two tablespoons of lemon juice. Apply a regular cleanser to your face and rinse. Once you’ve pat your face dry, I suggest that you submerge fresh clean towel into the mixture that you previously created. Place the towel on your face for a period of 15 minutes. Rinse your face and pat your skin dry once again.
What Rosewater does to your pimples when combined with lemon juice is that it stimulates that skin and encourages healthy skin to grow around pimples which help heal things. The result you’re looking to achieve is a natural skin tone. If your skin starts looking too shiny then you need to reduce the amount of Rosewater that you’re using.
Relieve Dry Skin
Rosewater has been known to work great to relieve one’s dry skin. Those that have exceptionally dry skin may want to incorporate glycerin and rosewater into their routine. This will moisten the skin relatively quickly. All you need to do is mix 1.5 cups of Rosewater with 0.25 cups of glycerin. If you really want to make a strong impact on your skin then I suggest that you leave the solution on your skin overnight.
The good news is that there are plenty of brands that carry Rosewater based products for you to try out. As an added precaution, I recommend that you do the following. For starters, read the label to make sure that the product you are using is 100% Rosewater. Second, you should confirm that there are no preservatives within the product. I recommend finding a product that’s locally produced if possible. You should also purchase a product that comes with a spray applicator. All you want to be able to smell is roses. If another scent is present then you want to avoid using it.
If you’re not using Rosewater on your face then you are losing out on a number of incredible benefits. The advantages of using this ingredient are wonderful and thousands if not millions of individuals use this ingredient. You should use it as well.
