We all spend so much time throughout our lives in the workplace and it can certainly take a toll on our skin. Sitting behind a desk staring at a computer can be mentally draining and even sometimes physically. Believe it or not, your skin can feel the impact as well. Don’t worry, there’s a solution to help replenish your skin and I strongly recommend doing so if you want to look and feel refreshed when the rest of your office team are looking less than okay. Better yet, make it an office routine to include everyone for optimal teamwork and results!
Replenish Your Skin With HIIT
Sitting in front of the computer can dull your skin. If you’re wondering how you skin can get dull I’ve determined one of the culprits. According to an assistant clinical professor at UCLA, Ava Shamban, “Dull skin can come from decreased circulation.” No, I’m not referring to the lack of shaking your head, I’m talking about circulation and blood flow overall.
Moving around can help your body get blood flowing and the more organs that receive and increased level of oxygen and blood flow, the better off your skin will be. Here are a few quick tips that can have a positive impact on your skin and put that glow back into it.
A recent article published in Allure shared a few exercises that can help replenish your skin. The technique is known as HIIT (high-intensity interval training) and incorporating this quick 5 to 7-minute routine can do wonders. Quick exercises in the workplace such as jumping jacks, push-ups and basic knee-highs can help get your blood flowing in your body. It’s also recommended that you bend over and touch your toes and do some light stretching.
Some people may not feel that any of this is important. They may feel that losing your glow is just part of working and it shows that you’ve put your time in and you’re busting your butt at the office. This couldn’t be further from the truth. My guess is that you’ll be recognized as a far greater leader in the workforce if you can both produce like a star and look like one too throughout the entire day.
Lastly, once you’re done performing your light exercise routine, I’d suggest that you use a light cleanser or face mist to try and refresh your skin. Just be sure that it’s not anything too strong.
