Have you heard of Pharmagel? Well, a quick search online reveals that roughly 2,000 people a month are out searching for these products. They’re going out of their way to get their hands on them. A quick look and you’ll understand that the listings on Amazon.com show ratings of 4.4 and 4.5 on the first page of the search results. Pretty solid stuff I must say!
You’ll also notice that the Facebook page has 4,000+ likes. All of which I’d say is enough for me to want to take action here and review the brand. This is exactly why I’m writing this review on the brand and the products today. I’ve done my best to cover company details first, then the products. Here’s what you need to know.
What Is Pharmagel?
The aging of your skin is one of (if not) the most common problems that skin care companies and consumers fight against on a daily basis. There are hundreds of companies out there that pride themselves on making the next best product for defying everything when it comes to aging of the skin. Pharmagel is up for the challenge and they might be your answer.
The Pharmagel company advertises itself as being a producer of the next generation of specialized skin treatments. I looked at their products and the company to determine whether or not this was something worth trying. Sure enough, it is, but first here’s some information about the company in general.
Company Background Info
Founded in 1986, Pharmagel has been around for a long time. The company is based in the USA and they make all types of skincare products. What specifically you ask? Well, the list includes cleansers, acne treatments, facial scrubs, eye treatments, face masks, and their main focus – anti-aging skin care treatments.
Their website is nice, easy to navigate and offers all the necessary ingredients regarding the products and their company policies. The company claims that they only use pharmaceutical-grade ingredients, those of which are highly effective on the skin. However, this claim has been somewhat overshadowed by the FDA’s warning about substantiating these claims. I’m not here to cover that today though.
There are many benefits to those that have become loyal customers over the years. Things such as subscriber discounts, bulk purchase discounts and more. The company and products wouldn’t exist without the right ingredients, which is why I’m covering that here today.
Time for us to take a closer look at the ingredients that you’ll find in Pharmagel products. Good news for consumers is that the website lists all the ingredients applicable to each formula and product. Below I’ve covered the active ingredients that actually play a promising role in the products.
- Vitamin C – Actually, strike that, let’s refer to it as Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate. This is a very potent, yet stable form of Vitamin C. If you’re not familiar with this, I need you to know that Vitamin C is one of the most powerful skin care ingredients on the planet and perhaps most common. Almost every skin product that contains this ingredient is good for your skin in one way or another (assuming that other harmful ingredients aren’t used in a product of course). The Vitamin C in this product repairs the skin, stimulating collagen production and whipping it into shape.
- Glycolic acid – This ingredient is often found in many anti-aging skin care products, as it is a powerful alpha hydroxy acid that exfoliates the skin, removing the top layer of dead skin, cleaning the pores and fixing hyperpigmentation that exists.
- Vitamin E – Also known as tocopherol, is an antioxidant that protects the skin against the UV, and other environmental pollutants such as the ozone. Yes, you heard that right. Besides the antioxidation properties, it can also be used as a preservative in cosmetics. It’s a winner – no doubt.
- Hyaluronic acid – Another important building block, this acid is responsible for the tightness and the hydration of the skin. The hyaluronic acid commonly found in skin care products helps with moisturizing and smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles. You’ll find that a lot of Pharmagel products contain this ingredient.
- Botanical extracts – Like papaya, lemon, aloe vera, cucumber, chamomile, green tea, nettle, orange, oats, calendula, mint, soybean, and others are commonly used throughout the various formulas.
Most of the Phramagel products are made free of parabens and artificial ingredients as well as fragrances. That’s obviously good news for people with sensitive skin.
The Pharmagel product line covers about 50 different products. I’ve done my best to showcase the best below. Check them out…
This is the top-notch “age-defying” product in the Pharmagel product line. The serum is made with none other than Vitamin C, all to reduce discoloration and boost the elasticity of the skin. Vitamin C stimulates collagen production, making the skin appear tighter and smoother. This has an impact on things giving it the ability to hide lines and wrinkles. It also contains sodium hyaluronate (a derivative of hyaluronic acid) as well as botanical extracts like coneflower extract and lemon peel oil. I’d say if you’re going to try any, try this one.
This is a moisturizing cleanser that can be applied to the face and body. It cleanses the skin, removing the “bad stuff” just like any other cleanser would do however this one comes in bar form. The bar cleanser contains colloidal oatmeal, calendula, and chamomile extracts that calm and soothes the skin.
You’ll notice that it contains green tea and ginseng extracts along with vitamins that refresh the skin, without drying it. The product also prevents the removing of natural oils within the skin and it doesn’t cause irritation issues.
This is one of the highest rated moisturizers by Pharmagel. It contains glycolic acid (alpha hydroxy acid) along with vitamin E and Vitamin C. The glycolic acid helps better exfoliate the skin, making it more even, and reducing the wrinkles.
The Vitamin C also works to smooth out those pesky wrinkles as well. Oh, it also helps with stimulating the production of collagen. It contains vitamin E which is what I’d consider a major player in the skin care world today.
This is a blend of twelve (yes 12) natural oils that are rich in vitamins and essential fatty acids like Omega-3 and Omega-6. They have a special rejuvenating effect on the skin.
The blend contains Argan, Sea Buckthorn (recently covered in this review), Marula, Cranberry Seed, Avocado, Sesame seed, Sweet Almond, Apricot, Grape Seed, Moringa seed, Geranium, and Rosemary leaf oil.
Another facial serum, but this one packed with retinol. Retinol is a form of vitamin A, which is great for the skin, but you must proceed with caution when using this if you’re in the sunlight frequently.
This serum is packed with botanical extracts like green tea extract and soybean oil, which along with the retinol help the skin become smoother by reducing your wrinkles and other age-related issues, as well as soothing any acne present.
Buying Pharmagel Products
The Pharmagel products can be bought online through the official company website. The company offers a free shipping option and also has some nice gifts for orders over $100. By subscribing to their newsletter the customer is eligible for a discount and by following them on social media one can find out more about their special offers and seasonal sales. I suggest following them obviously.
Their products are available on Amazon and a couple of other sites. Smaller vendors also carry some of the Pharmagel products, but when purchasing from these, please be careful and look at the expiration dates as well as customer reviews. Too many shady folks are selling skin care products today. It makes it impossible to trust brands and people today.
The Phramagel products treat lots of things and anyone interested can find a product that will fit their needs. Based on my research and the reviews I’ve read, I can certainly state that the overall reviews concerning the Pharmagel products are positive. Some of the products have a 4.5 out of the typical 5-star rating system on Amazon, which is a solid rating in my opinion.
Many consumers report that the products are good and using them has helped. Sure some people have bad things to say, but that’s always the case with this stuff. The best thing for you to do is check them out, read some more reviews and buy them to try them out. Worst case, you can return them.
