Lustra Cream

Today I’m going to be sharing some insights on a skin care product that I’ve recently done some research on. The brand name is called Lustra and it’s what most consider to be a skin lightening cream. The company behind the brand is known for producing both over the counter and prescription-only skin care products. The company has a pretty reputable reputation amongst many players within this competitive industry.

The company behind the Lustra brand is none other that TaroPharma. This is actually a small division of a major pharma company known as Taro Pharmaceuticals USA, Inc. While they produce many different products and brands, today I’m only going to be focusing on those within the brand family.

lustra creamWhat Is Lustra Cream?

If you have skin pigmentation issues then you may want to learn more about Lustra and the products within the line. They offer Lustra, Lustra-AF, and Lustra-Ultra. All of these products are creams which have been formulated slightly different from the next. One synonymous thing applicable to the products is that each of them includes the special ingredient hydroquinone, amongst many other powerful ingredients.

The reason this product requires a subscription is due to the high level of hydroquinone that exists in it. There are some products which contain up to 4% of hydroquinone and at that level, the only way to obtain a product with that high of a concentration is via a prescription.

In the event that you’re using over the counter products with little to know results and you want to improve your hyperpigmentation, then I suggest that you speak with your doctor about trying out one of the Lustra products. However, you’d best be prepared to open your wallet. It’s going to cost you $50 or more depending on the quantity being purchased.

The products work well due to the fact that they contain hydroquinone. It’s a major ingredient in many of the prescription scar removal creams on the market. If you want to read more about the ingredient, check this page out. Let me take a few minutes to explain how it works. See, hydroquinone does a great job of lightening a person’s skin so long as it is applied over a long period of time on a consistent basis. What it does is try to reduce the production of melanin within your body. As a result, your skin cells have a more even tone.

The product is jam packed with antioxidants as well as other ingredients which help increase the level of success that it yields for many patients. Lustra-Ultra actually contains a product known as Retinol which has been known to help fix skin pigmentation issues.

In the event that you are using Lustra or any product that contains hydroquinone, it’s a good idea to limit your exposure to sunlight as much as possible. Many consumers have reported sun sensitivity as a direct result of using the products.

Good Things

There are a few good things that I can share with you about Lustra and the company that manufacturers the product. The first thing that I can say is that the company website (although hard to find) is very informative and straight forward. They aren’t like your typical pharmaceutical company that leaves you vaguely wondering whether or not this is for you. Instead, they lay everything out there for you, letting you know who should use it, what it does, and how to use it even. They provide a specific 6-step process for you to adhere to if prescribed the medicine. The Taro Company displays information on a case study that was performed if you’d like to learn more about the products before trying any of the items.

I’ve listed out the applicable ingredients but you’ll be able to find the sam information on the company website if you decide to research things a bit more. Last, but not least, Lustra is owned and operated by what many would consider a Pharmaceutical giant. They’ve created so many different products over the years that they’ve likely mastered the art of creating maximum strength products.

Bad Things

As you probably know, just like any other skin care product on the market today, there are going to be some bad things that people have to say. I’ve got a short but important list of so-called “bad” things people have mentioned about this product line. I’ll start off by mentioning that Lustra contains ingredients that some people may be highly allergic to. Before using this product, you’ve got to test it on a small part of your body!

Some would say that another bad thing about this product is that it’s only available in the United States if you have a prescription to purchase the cream. That’s due to the high concentration levels. You also will not find many reviews on this product and although the company website is informative, there are no consumer reviews posted on the website. If you’re looking for more reviews that we’ve done, I encourage you to read this page. They leave you to fend for yourself if you’re truly interested in learning what other people have to say about the products. Lastly, these types of products that will make your skin extremely sensitive to sunlight. It’s all due to the main active ingredient. However, it’s not all that great to get too much sun and UV exposure anyway.

If you are looking for a product that is highly concentrated and proven to lighten your skin, then you’ll want to check out some of the Lustra products. If you’re looking for something casual to use to prevent aging and wrinkling, then you might want to search elsewhere. Speaking with a dermatologist is one of the smartest things you can do before taking this product. It’s a product for people with really bad hyperpigmentation issues and not for those that are simply looking to reduce lines and wrinkles.
