L’Oreal Buys Three Skin Care Brands For $1.3 Billion

We all know who L’Oreal is today. They are a giant within the skin care industry, producing so many various types of products that I don’t know where to begin. Well, turns out they’ve got three other brands that they’re taking under their wing.

L’Oreal Acquires AcneFree, Ambi, and CeraVe

The L’Oreal cosmetics company is huge. They literally own a ton of the biggest brands on the market today. Brands such as Lancome, Kiehl’s, and Clarisonic are all part of their skin care arsenals in a very competitive industry. They’re about to add three more names to that list for a whopping $1.3 billion.

The Canadian based company known as Valeant Pharmaceuticals International owns CeraVe, AcneFree, as well as Ambi. Apparently, the three brands combined generate roughly $168 million annually.

The products within the lines are affordable for just about anyone that wants to improve their skin. Most typically cost between $15 and $5 per product. There focus on anti aging and the acquisition is likely to shake most of the small players within the market. L’Oreal is the largest beauty company today and I see no signs of them slowing down. In fact, I’d expect them to continue to acquire more brands as the year progresses.

As for the products, some of the more popular the Cerave lotion and moisturizer are both popular products. They have an exfoliator that seems to be popular as well. Feel free to check this page out to learn more about the brand. We haven’t done any extensive research on AcneFree and Ambi but we plan on doing so this week. We will be sure to report our findings soon as possible.

In the meantime for those that haven’t tried any of the three brands mentioned, do yourself a favor and check them out. You’ll find them at any CVS, grocery store or local pharmacy. I’ll put my money on it! If you have any additional information on the acquisition then we’d love to hear from you. In the meantime, keep your skin healthy and clean regardless of the products that you use daily. Doing something is certainly better than nothing! Once again, congrats to L’Oreal and Valeant.
