Many people hit the age of 40 and they think that their life is over. They get so discouraged that they’ve just exited their 30s and I can’t really seem to understand why exactly. Perhaps it’s because they feel that hitting 40 means that you’re bound to start looking old. Well, new flash folks, it’s possible to look young at that age. I’m going to be sharing some tips for those that want to be looking younger at 40.
How To Look Younger At 40
Trust me, it’s not impossible to look younger when you hit 40. I’ve guided many individuals and helped them improve their physical looks as well as their confidence levels and it’s all because of a few simple things that I’m going to be sharing with you.
The first thing that I want to do is address many of the most popular concerns that men and women have once they reach that age. This is certainly not an exact science as I’m just taking a wild guess based on my industry experience and speaking with consumers that have contacted us over the years.
Some of the most common concerns that women have as they hit 40 are more sagging skin, development of more wrinkles, skin discoloration, hair growth, skin texture changes and more.
Though many women choose to wear lots of makeup to cover up their blemishes, they know that the deep wrinkles and lines can be seen through the cracks as makeup is simply a quick fix. As with just about anything in life, what’s typically most important is knowing what action to take and when. That’s why I’m sharing everything I know about looking younger at the age of 40. Here’s what you can do in an attempt to look younger than your actual age.
Use Good Cleansers
The first thing I want you to stop doing is just buying whatever cleansers are on sale at the grocery store. You need to find something that’s going to improve the condition of your skin. That said, it’s important that you choose a cleanser that contains AHAs. By doing so, you’ll be cleansing your face with an high-quality cleanser that can help exfoliate your skin and encourage cell turnover. The end result, new skin cells produced and clean skin.
Incorporate A Facial Serum
This may seem obvious but some just skip it completely. You’ve got to invest in a facial serum that contains anti aging ingredients known to help improve your complexion. Be sure to find a serum that contains lots of vitamin C as well as vitamin E. These vitamins will work hard all day long to keep your skin full of the antioxidants it needs to look great!
In the evening, you’re going to want to use another serum that contains retinol. This product helps encourage cell growth and turnover, which is just what you need if you want to look younger.
Let’s face it, protecting your skin is not an option, it’s a requirement. If you want to put a halt to the aging process then you need to find a broad spectrum sunscreen to apply to both your face and body. The sunscreen will help with blocking UVA/UVB rays which can cause free radicals to form and destroy your skin. This is an absolute must if you want to look younger than 40 at your age.
Watch What You Eat
As you age, the food that you consume becomes much more important. In fact, I’d go as far as saying that it makes a huge difference with what you put in your body and it’s just as impactful as what you put on your skin if not more. Proper diet and nutrition can be a game changer on so many different levels. The first thing you want to do is cut out chemicals, processed foods, junk food, and everything else that doesn’t come from the ground, the ocean, or an animal. Sugars and Chemicals can cause your skin to become inflamed. Having poor gut condition can reflect on your skin.
If you want younger looking skin, then I suggest incorporating Greek yogurt into your breakfast, maybe some healthy almonds, blueberries and some kale as well. If you do that, you’ll be feeding your body many of the vitamins and antioxidants it craves daily.
There’s Always Botox
I wouldn’t be being honest if I didn’t mention botox. It’s always an option and a viable one as well. For those that can afford to get injections, then I suggest looking into it. It’s a rather simple procedure that can make your frown lines go away as well as your crow’s feet and all without the trouble of many invasive surgical procedures.
Men and women that exercise daily look younger than many others their age. They take pride in caring for their body and treat it like a finely tuned machine. If you’re not working out then you’re not treating your body with the respect that it deserves. Since I workout at a really high-end gym, I see lots of women 40 and above working out as well. Believe it or not, many of them look far younger than the people on the street that don’t both stepping foot in the gym. It takes less than one hour per day to exercise and anyone who says they don’t have time is lying. We all have the same amount of hours, so what you choose to do with that time matters.
Ask An Expert
When all else fails, the best thing for you to do is ask an expert. Don’t waste your time asking one of your friends, go straight to the professional for answers instead. Having spent so much time communicating with dermatologists over the years, I know that many of them are far more knowledgeable and reliable than any friends out there. This is what they do for a living, so it only makes sense to reach out to them. Should you contact multiple dermatologists? Well, that’s a choice that you’ll have to make. Whatever you do, just be sure to do something.
