Is lack of sleep your problem? The reason I ask is that it most definitely is 100% my problem. Well, that and a number of other things but for sure not sleeping enough. That’s what I for having a newborn I guess, right? Anyway, I’m not complaining here at all. In fact, I’m here to share some pointers with you if you’re struggling with the same issue as me.

Most people think it’s almost impossible to make it look like you slept for eight hours. I’m here to tell you that they’re 100% wrong. However, if you don’t do what I’m about to tell you, then people will for sure be able to tell if you’ve gotten an adequate amount of shuteye (pun intended).

The skin that exists around your eyes is very sensitive and telling. It shows off exactly what you’ve done the last eight hours. If you stayed up all night working on something, then for sure your skin will reflect as such. That is unless you know which skin care hacks to implement! The list I’m about to share below is one that will help you for sure look like you’ve got an adequate amount of sleep. Trust me, you’ll want to keep reading if you care about your appearance and complexion.

Lack of sleep tips for looking good

7 Things To Do If You Lack Sleep But Want To Look Your Best

This list is not in any special order and it should not be taken as such. Instead, you should just take the time to do everything you can that’s been listed and see how your skin reacts. Here’s everything that you need to consider doing if you’re lacking the sleep necessary to look amazing.

Moisturize

You’ll want to put forth the effort to moisturize your skin. That means using a moisturizing cream that contains something called collagen. This is a lifesaver when it comes to wrinkles and lacking sleep can make those wrinkles more prevalent. Don’t be afraid to work in some moisturizing creams that contain hyaluronic acid as well as retinol. Just make sure you’re applying them at the right time of day.

Monitor Your Salt

You only slept three hours? Well, then just your salt intake down! I believe the recommended daily salt intake is roughly 15 grams. This is the total salt from all foods. If you’re consuming a diet that’s salt heavy, then you’ll find that it will not help your skin one bit. At the same time, try to increase consumption of foods that contain vitamin B and potassium.

Hemorrhoid Cream

Some people try the old hemorrhoid cream trick and it works for them. Others try it and it does nothing. I guess the only way to know for sure is to try it out and see what happens. However, before you do, you best read this page which covers the entire topic. It will help reduce that puffy eye look.

Legit Lips

If you want to make your skin look better, then I suggest doing what you can to draw attention away from them. Focus on drawing attention to your lips if possible. A stronger emphasis on the lip region will take the attention off of those eyes bags that formed overnight while you were at the club.

Take An Antihistamine

I’m not telling you to take medication when you don’t need it, but some have said that antihistamines help if you’ve got baggy eyes during allergy season. Might as well just pop a pill to block the histamine and prevent swelling.

Water

If you’re running on like four hours sleep and you look like crap, don’t start chugging Redbulls and iced coffees to fix things. Instead, keep things simple and chug water. No caffeine unless you’re applying it in a serum or cream to your skin. If your skin is looking dry and perhaps flaky, then you need to boost your water intake for sure and cut back on the caffeine.

Wear Shades

I know, it sounds simple enough but if you put on a pair of sunglasses, then you can easily hide any lack of sleep issues which show within your eyes. You can look into someone’s eyes and see whether they’ve been partying their face off or have been up all night. Make sure they cover most of your under eye region or it will be a complete waste of money.

Apply Compresses

If you’ve got some cucumbers, toss them in the freezer for a few minutes, same goes for potato slices. Then apply the slices to your eyes for a few minutes at a time. Repeat the process a couple of times and you’ll quickly benefit from doing so.

These simple quick tips should help make you look like you slept a full eight hours even if you only got in less than half that. Just be sure to take action immediately upon waking up from that short nap you took.
