iS Clinical Active Serum

I’m all about finding brands on Amazon.com and reviewing them. Why? Well, for starters there are a ton of skin care brands and product lines that probably shouldn’t even exist. I’m not saying that this is one of them, but there are definitely many. Today’s product is the iS Clinical Active Serum and it’s perhaps one of the most popular products that this brand makes.

Consumers typically purchase this skin serum when they want to enhance the brightness as well as the texture of their skin. However, they best be ready to spend some money because the product is not cheap. I’ll get to those details later. First things first, let me dive into the product and its ingredients.

The active serum by iS Clinical is a go-to product for many women today. My guess is that they use this for multiple reasons, one being that it plays a role in brightening the skin. The product is able to do this due to its ingredients. You’ll find that it contains a few key ingredients that many other skin care serums contain. If you take a closer look at the ingredients label, you’ll notice the following three powerful ingredients listed.

Lactic Acid
Glycolic Acid
Kojic Acid

All three of these ingredients are in the Active serum and in what seem to be potent concentrations. While I haven’t been able to personally test the concentration levels in a laboratory setting, I can say that it does seem to penetrate the skin nicely and assist in the brightening of the skin.

Does It Help Improve Your Acne?

Well, not quite. If you’re looking for an acne solution, then this might not be the product for you. It’s not known for being a powerful product in that respect. However, if spots and darkness of the skin are your problems then this might be the answer.

More On The Active Ingredients

As previously stated, the iS Clinical Active Serum contains popular active ingredients which are actually alpha hydroxy acids. Those of which are lactic acid and glycolic acid. I’ll do my best to cover each individual ingredient in order to give you a better idea as to what each does and why.

Kicking things off with the glycolic acid, this ingredient helps smooth out the skin and improve cell turnover rate. The skin cell turnover rate is important because the quicker your skin turns over the less dead skin and buildup that you have.

This ingredient also works to help reduce the number of wrinkles on your skin and increase the production of collagen. Basically, what happens is the glycolic acid peels off a thin layer of your skin and your body quickly reacts to continue boosting the production of collagen.

The lactic acid helps by gently exfoliate your skin as well as hydrate the skin. The ingredient is known to be a humectant so it can hydrate the skin. The hydrating of the skin is crucial because dry skin can cause wrinkles, fine lines, and other issues which are visible to the naked eye on any individual.

If you have sensitive skin issues, you should be okay with using this product as it’s not quite as strong as other peels such as the TCA peel.

The last active ingredient that I’m going to cover is kojic acid. This is primarily used as a skin brightener and is actually quite effective at reducing hyperpigmentation issues. It’s the “sleeper” ingredient that packs a mean punch and is able to fight the spots that commonly form on the skin.

The Company

If you’re curious to learn more about the company before using it, then great! Based on my research, this company has quite the social media presence with a whopping 21,000+ followers on Instagram alone. While that may not seem like many to some, it’s definitely a lot more than other brands selling on Amazon.

iS Clinical InstagramIf you head on over to the company website, you’ll quickly notice just how many products they actually have. They’ve got products that cover just about every skin condition out there. Things like acne, aging, dehydration, hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores, dark circles, puffy eyes, scars, and even rosacea.

Take a look at the about page and you’ll get a better understanding as to why they created the brand and the meaning behind the line. If you’re curious, the iS stands for Innovative Skincare.

Buying The Product

If you’re interested in buying the iS Clinical Active Serum then you can simply make the purchase via Amazon.com. It’s going to cost you $134 for a one-ounce bottle of serum. Now, I’ll tell you right now that this is definitely an expensive serum especially considering the options on the market today.

The good news is that the product seems to have a 4.1-star rating on Amazon which is better than most skin serums available today.

Is It Worth Trying?

Honestly, if I were you I would reach out to my dermatologist first and see what he or she recommends. The reason I say this is because it’s quite possible that other products out there exist that are more concentrated and less expensive. Don’t get me wrong, by the looks of it, this does seem to be an effective product, but you better be ready to spend some money if you want to get your hands on it!

Similar Products

Are you looking to spend less money and achieve the same results? We’re all looking to do that in general, so don’t feel like an outcast. There are products on Amazon that you can consider using if you want to try something that’s less expensive. This product isn’t the only lactic acid and glycolic acid containing serum on the market.

However, it’s tough to really make a comparison with the others due to concentration levels being undisclosed. You’ll find that many skin care products have proprietary formulas which they’ve listed and labeled their products with. When this happens, it’s almost impossible without testing it to see if it works. Go with your gut when it comes to product use!
