Although it’s not typical of us to published quick reports on certain things of this nature, given the fact that it negatively affects your skin we feel obligated to spread the word. The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission has recently issued a recall for a specific product that you may come in contact with many times daily. Yes, I’m referring to your smartphone!
Not the phone itself but the case you may be using might be the reason why your skin is burning. If you’ve recently purchased one of the iPhone cases from MixBin Electronics, then you might want to think twice about using your phone. Better yet, remove the case immediately!
iPhone Case Recall Over Skin Damage – The Details!
The specific recall involves all mobile phone cases that contain liquid glitter which is used on the iPhone 6, 6s and 7. There are a number of vendors that sell these specific cases made by MixBin Electronics. You’ll find them in places like Nordstrom Rack, Amazon, Henri Bendel, Tory Burch, and Victoria’s Secret.
MixBin is the distributor of the cases and there have been many reports all over the world of people getting chemical burns and skin irritation from the cases. One of the consumers that reported the incident actually reported permanent skin damage due to the chemical burn. The iPhone cases were manufactured in China and more than 260,000 have been sold.
If you are using one of these iPhone cases, then I strongly suggest you discontinue use immediately. Try to recall when you purchased the case. Assuming your purchase was made at any of the retailers mentioned above between October 2015 and June 2017, then you need to take some action. The product likely cost you between $15 and $65 depending on the retail store you purchased the item from. The company is willing to issue refunds for anyone that’s been affected by this.
More importantly, make sure you haven’t suffered any significant skin damage from using the cell phone case. In the event that you have, please do not hesitate to call as for advice.
