I know, the title is a bit deceiving but I had to get your attention somehow. My guess is that if you’re like the typical guy out there, on Superbowl Sunday you’re going to be housing tons of bad foods, beers, possibly tequila shots and more. I can’t really blame you for that, but I will say that I’m not partaking in any of those antics this year. Instead, I’ve set forth to make February my recharge month.
What I mean by that is minimal alcohol intake, no gluten, clean eats and lots of exercising. It’s just something that I wanted to do, so I’m going for it. At any rate, throughout the month I intend on taking my action to whip my skin into shape over the month as well. This blog post is for the rest of the men out there trying to get their mind, body, and skin in shape.
Guy Tips For Better Looking Skin This Weekend & Month
Now, these tips might seem rather elementary or basic. Just take the time to digest the information before shutting them down. A little goes a long way when it comes to this stuff, trust me.
The first thing you want to do is drink water, lots of it every day. I make it a point to have a full glass of water on my desk at all times throughout the day. This reminds me to drink water. Staying hydrated not only helps keep your skin hydrated but it also helps remove toxins from your body and boost your metabolism.
The next thing you want to do is start eating a strict diet. The most important part of this isn’t eating the same thing, but consuming the proper macros daily and getting your nutrients from healthy whole food sources. Pizza, burgers, and fast food make your body perform sluggishly, look awful, and they make your skin look bad as well.
If you’re smoking cigarettes or whatever the heck you’re smoking, you need to stop. Smoking is not only disgusting, it’s terrible for your health. All that smoke causes wrinkles to form. The damage that it does to collagen and elastin is often irreversible, especially if you continue to smoke. So do yourself a favor and cut that out!
We covered this in a recent blog post but I’ll cover it again. Guys, stop touching your face. All that oil, dirt, grime, and germs, in general, will clog your pores. Yes, they cause breakouts so just stop doing it, now.
This next tip is for the gym rats that spend time in the sauna – just don’t. Seriously, don’t even think about it. Spending time in that tanning booth is not going to make you look better in the long run. In fact, it’s going to make you look like a wrinkled old dude eventually. Now that you’re planning on stopping the tanning bed action, it’s time to apply sunscreen (SPF 30+) daily too. Trust me, not wearing sunscreen may cause more health issues in the future than you can even imagine.
Basically, you’ve got to start respecting your body and skin if you want to look younger. All the partying and indulging will eventually catch up to if you don’t take action and fix things immediately.
