I loved college, it was one of the favorite periods in my life to date. However, some of the things that I did weren’t great for my body or my skin. Although I was pretty much always in decent shape, my skin went downhill for a short period of time in college.
Freedom to do anything.
Late nights study.
They all played a role. The good news is that if you’re on a bad path, it’s never too late to make changes for the better. Here’s what you need to know if you want to whip your skin back in shape.
College Student Skin Tips (For Whipping Your Skin Back In Shape)
Assuming you’re familiar with some of these things, I don’t want you to start rolling your eyes and doing immature things of that nature. Instead, keep an open mind and pat yourself on the back if you’re already taking action in certain areas.
If you want to keep your skin looking money, then you need to drink a ton of water. Assuming you’ve been crushing keg beer all week or weekend, then a lot of water will do you good. Water will keep your stomach full, your skin hydrated and your metabolism going. It’s a win-win-win, what else can I say.
Wash Your Face (Before Class)
Don’t lie to me, I know you’ve rolled out of bed and sprinted to class just to make it on time. Instead, you should think about making time for washing your face every morning. You should try and shower before class. in the event that you’re unable to do so, then at least wash your face for gosh sakes!
Take Off The Makeup
Sure, this one is just for the girls but nevertheless, it’s super important. There’s no reason for you to be going to bed with makeup on. I don’t care if you’ve been partying your face off for hours on a night-long binge with your sorority sisters.
Take 60 seconds to take the makeup off of your face before going to bed. Your skin needs to be able to breathe nightly in order to recoup, rebuild, and regenerate itself. Wash your face every night and remove your makeup, enough said.
I know, when you’re in college you’ve got freedom and have the ability to do whatever the heck you want. However, that’s not an invitation to do everything that your parents taught you not to do.
For example, if you’re smoking, then stop. It’s disgusting and quite frankly it sucks. There’s nothing cool about smoking in college. It looks cool when you’re young but the wrinkles and addiction that come with that are not worth it, trust me!
Clean Your Phone
If you’re Snapchatting your face off and talking as well as texting all day long, then chances are you’re putting your skin at risk. Your poor skin comes in contact with bacteria all day long. Whether it be from coming in contact with your hands or your phone, it’s not good. The best start would be to clean up your phone. No, I’m not talking about the content saved on it but instead, wiping it down to kill the germs. This will prevent the transferring of bacteria to your skin.
Put The Pizza Down
If you’re eating greasy foods and unhealthy eats late night, then you’re skin is going to hate you for that. Put the pizza down and pick up a salad. Your waistline and face will look much better, trust me on that!
