Coconut Milk Might Be The Answer To Your Skin & Hair Issues

I’ve shared my personal thoughts on why coconut oil is one of the best natural skin care ingredients out there. Another closely related ingredient is coconut milk. If you’ve never used or consumed coconut milk, then you are missing out big time. There are plenty of things that this ingredient can do for you and your skin.

Would I consider it to be a “superfood” of some sort? I guess so because it’s that powerful. More good news, it’s pretty easy to get your hands on coconut milk at just about any grocery store today. If you can’t find it, you can make it at home even. There are lots of companies out there using this product to create various tasty treats. People still use this to make pina colada’s and a few other unhealthy but delicious drinks. Now, even though I encourage you to stay away from alcohol if you’re going to drink you might as well consume something that has coconut milk in it I guess.

Why You Need Coconut Milk In Your Routine…

Before I get to all the good things that coconut milk can do for your body and skin, I’ll share some of the nutritional facts about this product.

A half of a cup of coconut milk contains the following:

vitamin C
vitamin E
vitamin B6

Simply drinking a glass of coconut milk can deliver all those vitamins and minerals mentioned above. Now, more importantly, I’m sure you want to know why this milk is in such high demand these days. Here are all the benefits that you’ll get when you consume or use this in some form on a daily basis.

Coconut Milk Hair Treatment

If you have yet to try adding coconut milk to your hair treatment routine, then you’re really missing out big time! It can moisturize your hair if it’s dry. People that have a chafed scalp or excessively dry scalp use this on their hair. What you can do is place the unsweetened coconut milk in the refrigerator so that it hardens. Overnight it will become a paste-like substance which can be massaged into your hair. Keep the milk in for roughly 30 minutes and then rinse your hair. Your split ends and damaged hair will replenish and repair itself with this treatment.

If you’re balding, then you might want to consider using this too. Unsweetened coconut milk can help slow the process of losing your hair. The treatment does take a long time, roughly a few hours but it can help. Apply the following mixture below to your scalp and leave it in for three hours. Rinse the DIY mixture out of your hair, shampoo per usual and that’s it.

1 C. water
1/2 C. coconut milk
lavendar oil drops

Anti Aging Benefits

Aside from preventing baldness, coconut milk can help slow the aging process in other ways. Many people incorporate this into their routine because it contains vitamin C and copper. There are both powerful ingredients that can help prevent sagging, aging spots from forming, and elasticity.

A facemask made of coconut milk, eucalyptus oil, and raw honey is all you need to do the trick. Applying the mixture below will help reduce the presence of fine lines and wrinkles. All it takes is some patience, roughly 20 minutes of your time.

The face mask formula is as follows:

1/4 C. coconut milk
3 drops eucalyptus oil
1/2 tbs raw honey

Mix that together, apply it to your face for 20 minutes, gently rinse and you’re good to go. Your skin will feel hydrated and young looking in a matter of minutes.

Other Reasons To Use This

There are a few other reasons why you should think about incorporating coconut milk into your routine. It can help relieve inflamed skin without clogging your pores. Use can moisturize your skin to prevent dryness. Assuming you’d like to consume this via ingesting it internally, your heart will certainly appreciate it. Expect cholesterol levels to improve. If you have a sunburn, this will help make your burn heal and feel better quicker due to the elimination of dryness and inflammation.

Well, if all those reasons don’t excite you enough to want to use coconut milk daily, then I don’t know what to tell you. Sometimes you’ve just got to take a chance and see how things turn out. My guess is you’ll enjoy the results if you do. If not, your skin will remain as, in which case you’re on your own I guess.
