Why Tomatoes Are Great For Your Skin

Before I get into all the great reasons why tomatoes are awesome for your skin, allow me to shed some light on some facts. Did you know that tomatoes contain a ton of potassium and high levels of vitamin C? These two things definitely play a key role in helping restore your skin. They also contain something called lycopene, an antioxidant that’s able to help fight off free radicals without any real effort.

Now, here are some of the more specific things that tomatoes can do for your skin.

Fix Large Pore Issues – Are you having trouble with your pores? Perhaps they are large and in charge – not a good thing. If so, it’s time to take back your pores, shrink them down and in the long run, reduce the presence of blackheads. Now, in order to do this, you’ll want to go ahead and simply slice a tomato in half, rub it on your skin, leave it there for fifteen minutes and rinse it off.

Reduce Your Tan – Summer is near, and your tan will likely improve. My guess is that you may end up with too much of a tan if you do not take care of your skin. Which is exactly why you need to incorporate tomatoes into your skin care routine. Tomatoes will help you reduce your tan by mashing one up, adding some honey and and massaging that into your skin. leave this mask on for fifteen minutes and rinse off.

Oil Fighter – Tomatoes can help you reduce the oil levels in your skin. If your skin is extra oily, then all you need to do is rub a sliced tomato on to your skin, leave it for a few minutes then rinse it off. Your skin should immediately feel less oily, tighter, and in better condition overall.

Perfect Skin Toner – Some people like to incorporate tomatoes into their skin toners. Given that using a toner is pretty much essential today, people that are serious about their skin do so. I strongly encourage your to try and incorporate tomatoes into your skin through the use of a homemade toner.

Tomato toner can be made by combining tomato and cucumber juice into a spray. Be sure to strain the juice well before using it. It’s advised that you only use the spray for a period of a few days and that you store it in the fridge.

Well, those are the best uses and ways for incorporating tomatoes into your skin care regimen. Take action and reap the benefits of doing so, or continue living with bad skin. The choice is ultimately yours!

But wait, there’s more!

My guess is that you’re interested in learning about other fruits and vegetables that are good for your skin. There are plenty of them out there that can do wonders for your skin. I’d start by learning how cucumbers can help boost your skin condition – read this here. Another vegetable that’s great for your skin is pumpkin. If you’ve never incorporated pumpkin into your skin care, then you should try it out.

Last but not least, I refuse to talk skin care foods without mentioning coconut. It’s a staple for many and one that works like a charm to fix your skin. Here’s everything that you need to know about coconut and how it can help fix your skin.
