Best Water Based Moisturizers

I’ve been spent lots of time searching for the best water-based moisturizers on the market and I’m officially ready to give you the rundown of my findings. I typically start searching for this specific type of moisturizer right around the time when it gets extremely cold outside. Once the temperature drops to uncomfortable levels, you’ll find yourself scouring for some type of moisturizer to keep your skin in tip-top shape.

After harping about using moisturizers for a year now, you should know that I’ve got some goodies that I’m no stranger to this product. In fact, I like to think that habitual readers here at Skincare.net know better and that they perhaps don’t even need to read this article. For those that don’t fit into that category, stay focused and check this out. I’m going to tell you which water-based moisturizers are hot today and why I suggest you use them.

Why Use Water Based Moisturizers And Which?

There are plenty of reasons why you need to incorporate a water-based moisturizer into your routine. That holds true especially when it’s cold outside. The main reason why you want to begin practicing this is to help reduce the presence of wrinkles. Starting young is a good thing when it comes to your skin and moisturizing is a surefire way to prevent wrinkles from showing up on your skin.

Which Are The Best?

There are literally thousands of water-based moisturizers out there for your to choose from. I would not suggest just running to Wal-mart and grabbing anything off the shelf. That can actually do more damage than good. Not to mention, you’ll be left in the dark with some products that leave your skin feeling like you cooked a sheet of bacon on them. That’s why I suggest you go with a water-based moisturizer! Whether you’ve got dry or oily skin, this is the type of moisturizer for you. You won’t clog your pores either, something that typically happens when using cream based moisturizers.

I’m going to start with some that might seem obvious to you if you’re an avid skin care product user. That said, keep reading because you might find something that catches your eye…

Pre: Empt Moisturizer by Perricone MD

Honestly, if getting what you pay for is one of your things, then this one should bring you results. It’s an oil-free hydrating cream that’s loaded with antioxidants. I’ll be honest, it’s definitely not cheap. However, if you’re looking for a quick fix and you want results, then I suggest trying this one out. We haven’t reviewed this entire brand as of yet, but it’s on the books for Feb 2017.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer

Best Water Based Moisturizers

I personally can’t say enough things about this brand. Kiehl’s has always delivered results for me regardless of the product type and the Ultra Facial Moisturizer is no exception to this rule. I’ve used a number of different products under the Kiehl’s brand and they all work stellar. What I can tell you is that most people that use this brand are completely obsessed with it. They are loyal to the brand and Kiehl’s makes sure that they deliver. In terms of ingredients, you’ll find a bunch of different things in here. Anything from squalane, apricot kernel oil, and stearic acid, to avocado oil and most importantly, water.

Mac Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Gel

I didn’t know that Mac even made this product until I did some research on the topic. This brand also has a really strong user base and following. The Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Gel sounds uber fancy, I know. Apparently, this gel is not sticky or greasy at all. In fact, many users are saying that it’s super light and a great daytime replenishment option for those on the go. Full disclosure, I’ve never tried this moisturizer but based on what I’ve read it sounds positive enough to suggest to others. This costs $40.00 and can be found at Nordstrom or Macy’s as well as other department stores. If you’re interested in the Mac eye cream, read this review before buying it.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel

This wouldn’t be a “best of” article if I didn’t include skin care giant Neutrogena. This is a pretty inexpensive moisturizing gel that many people use across the globe. Lots choose to use this due to its price, effectiveness, and the convenience of obtaining it. You can head to the local CVS or Walgreens to get this for around $13.00. It’s specifically built for dry skin and to be used during the day. Good news for those that like to protect their skin, there is sunscreen in this product!

Philosophy Hope In A Jar

Hope In A Jar Moisturizer

This moisturizer is a lot more expensive than the one I’ve just described above but it works quite well so people buy it. This is also considered to be a day cream to help protect your skin from harsh damage that the environment today can cause. It’s made to be used on your face and it contains ingredients such as urea and alpha hydroxy acid. It costs about $50 for a 4.0-ounce jar of the water based moisturizer.

Neutrogena Oil Free Moisturizer

Getting back to the meant for the masses products, we’ve got the Neutrogena oil-free moisturizer. I’ll tell you right now, this is really great for your skin and if you’ve got relatively dry areas then this one might be for you. It’s affordable at $9.00 on average and it’s meant for all types of skin. Not to mention, some of the third party reviews are better for this water-based moisturizer versus more expensive brands. One thing I need to share with you about this company, they’ve had issues with some products in the past. If you’ve had a bad reaction to this brand, like some of the people in this article, then steer clear.

If you’re having trouble making a decision on which water-based moisturizers to buy, then just contact us and we’ll help you determine which is best for you based on your personal situation. It does take a bit of money and effort to determine which of these is best for your skin. However, the task isn’t even half as difficult as you think.

As a last resort, I’d suggest asking a few of your friends what they use on a daily basis. In the event that they confirm not using anything, then I want you to refrain from taking any skin care advice from them here on out. At that point, if you’re still stuck in a rut, contact your local dermatologist and they’ll help you out!
