Since having my new baby, I haven’t slept all that much. To be honest, I’m lucky if I get three hours sleep straight. The lack of sleep may be destroying my skin or slowly aging me. Sounds awful, right? That’s because it is! Don’t get me wrong, I love having a baby and my life is exciting every single day, but I also love having a young looking complexion. That said, there are certain things that I do each night (no matter what) in order to help boost my chances of waking up looking fresher than ever before.
I’m all about optimizing my life and efforts in everything. That even comes into play while sleeping. There are specific things that I do which ensures that my skin looks and feels fantastic. I’ve got a laundry list of things that you can consider doing if you want to wake up with nice looking skin.
What You Must Do Before Bed To Ensure Great Looking skin Upon Awakening
You’re not sure what you can do to keep your complexion looking perfect? Well, all you need to do is read this article because I’ve covered it all. There’s plenty that can be done and most of it applicable just before bedtime.
Do all these things before you hit the sack and you’ll wake up looking good…
First And Foremost, Wash Your Face.
You need to go to be with clean skin if you wish to wake up with clean skin. It’s not rocket science, seriously. I don’t care how tired and out of it I am, I wash my face every single night. Reason being, I know that my skin has literally acted like a sponge, absorbing all those pollutants, dirt, grime and oil that I develop and come in contact with.
Pretty gross huh…
We touch our face all day long and doing so is really bad for our complexion. Since our skin regenerates itself in the every while we sleep, our dead cells either build up or they’re removed to help improve your complexion. In other words, wash your face every night before bed or you’ll be in big trouble. Over time, those pores will clog and you’ll regret neglecting your skin, trust me.
Eat Healthy Before Bed (Avoid Cheese)
Put down the dairy products and fine cheeses if you want to keep your skin looking good. These cheeses can often trigger breakouts to occur and most of the time it has everything to do with the inflammation comes with eating these delicious dairy treats. If it’s late night and you’ve got a craving, then opt for some low sugar fruits instead.
Following up with the poor late night snacking, I want you to eat a healthy meal before bed. Your diet 100% plays a role in your complexion. The best thing you can eat before bed is fish or chicken with a salad. Feel free to add in some olive oil or flaxseed oil. Keep it low calorie with healthy, natural, ingredients. The oils in the salmon will work their magic on your skin while you sleep.
Use Retinoids Before Bed
Assuming you’ve got some dark spots and you want to get rid of them, then I suggest you apply a retinoid of some sort. Do this right before bed to avoid any potential UV light damage, pollution issues, and other environmental issues.
Treat Spots Before Crashing
You’ll want to apply all those acne treatments right away before hitting the pillow. In doing so, you’ll want to make sure you’ve cleaned your skin to the best of your abilities before treating your skin. If you don’t you can simply live with blemishes and acne spots.
Drink Lots Of Water Before Bed
If you’re looking for a cheap and healthy action to put into play before bed, then you need to know about this amazing thing called water. It’s as cheap as it gets and if you want your skin to glow, then you need to consume one liter of water at night (at a minimum). Sure, you’ll end up getting up to pee but for good skin, it’s well worth it.
Go To Bed Early
Look, you need sleep and if you can get to be early, then just do it. Trust me, you’re not missing anything at all. Staying up after midnight is just foolish and not a good use of your time.
Take all these things into consideration if you want to whip your skin into shape while you sleep. Let us know if you have any suggestions on top of all that which I’ve shared with you.
