Have you heard of Algenist? Well, if not, then read my brief review of the skin care line now and you will soon be familiar with what they have to offer. Algenist is a high-quality advanced line of skin care products. The line was developed by a leader in the biotechnology sector named Solazyme. The company is known for utilizing the capability of microalgae to produce oil.
The Algenist Company
Solazyme wasn’t created with the intentions of discovering an incredible anti aging ingredient. It was originally created in an attempt to create a renewable energy project. However, the discovery which made everyone aware of the anti aging power that it had discovered, they decided to take the Algenist brand and focus on anti aging. The brand was launched with the objective of then becoming a leader in skin care with products based on the ingredient known as Alguronic Acid.
How did all of this come about? Well, what happened was, a team of scientists located in the San Francisco area one day discovered how powerful Algae was and the protective capabilities that it was able to provide.
What Is Alguronic Acid?
If you’re scratching your head trying to figure out what alguronic acid is, it’s not as complex as it sounds. Alguronic acid is simply a polysaccharide that has been extracted from algae. The polysaccharide supposedly has incredible anti aging benefits when it comes to keeping your skin young and healthy looking.
What Do Algenist Products Do?
Algenist products are known for being able to significantly increase the cell turnover rate which as a result promotes further tighter skin that’s wrinkle free over a long period of time. The brand claims that Algae has been able to successfully evolve for years in order to protect itself within damaging environments. These same environments contain elements which have been known to damage our skin. It’s possible that Algae can help reduce the damage that’s been done on our skin.
Algenist is considered to be a highly recognized brand and the products produced are considered to be good but they are not within the top ten skin care brands based on our research.
The brand stands by its claims that Alguronic acid is a powerful compound. They firmly believe that it has regenerative properties and that can both protect and regenerate, even in harsh environments. This is basically the science behind the products that Algenist creates. Algenist produces a wide array of products. The products that they produce include but aren’t limited to moisturizers, serums, eye balms, cleansers, and toners. For those interested in purchasing Algenist products, they can be purchased on the Algensit.com website, QVC, at local Sephora stores and BeautyBay locations.
The specific Algenist product names that can be purchased are the Firming and Lifting Cream, Genius Ultimate Anti Aging Cream, Power Advanced Wrinkle Cream Fighter Serum, Ultimate Vitamin C+ Serum, Complete Eye Renewal Balm, Purifying and Replenishing Cleanser, Concentrated Reconstructing Serum and more. There are a number of other products that exist and should you be interested in purchasing the products, I’d suggest you visit the companies website to do so.
The main active ingredient that exists in nearly all Algensit products is an antioxidant known as Algae Exopolysaccharides. This ingredient is an antioxidant that is know to be able to successfully protect your skin against damage that can be caused due to the environment it lives in. Other ingredients that Algenist products contain are Tetrapeptide-21, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Retinol, and Niacinamide. These ingredients are known for possessing great anti aging benefits and are known for being able to assist in smoothing and toning your skin. The products have been reviewed by many popular editorial outlets such as Time magazine, Oprah Magazine, Maxim, Real Beauty, Dr. Oz and many more. Unfortunately, I have to recommend that you do your own due diligence before purchasing any skin care product and should you not be able to make a purchasing decision, you can always contact your local primary doctor or dermatologist.
There are a number of third-party product reviews that you can find online if you perform a search for specific Algenist products and adding the term “consumer review” to the end of your search.
In the event that Algenist isn’t recommended by your dermatologist, then I suggest you take their advice and try out whatever product they recommend you use. No one is more knowledgeable than your own dermatologist that you’ve been seeing.
